DietBet keeps a portion of the total pledged to cover our expenses, which include financial transaction costs for both the initial pledge and the payout, weight-verification staff, customer service, and technology support. Because DietBet's fees are taken out of the total pledged before paying out the winners, players who do not meet the goal do not incur any fees. The current fee to play is 10-25% of the total depending on the amount of the each player’s pledge.

New "No Lose Guarantee"
This guarantee ensures that if you achieve the weight loss goal of your dietbet game and are verified to be a winner, you won't lose money. Most winners make money but in the event that your game has an unusually high percentage of winners, we'll forfeit our share in order to ensure that nobody loses any of their pledge. So the worst-case scenario is that you'll end up losing weight for free, which is still a big win. The only exception to this case would be a charity game. Our charity games do not have a 'No Lose Guarantee' as we want to donate the most money possible directly to the selected charity. Please note that for Transformers games, this guarantee applies as long as the player wins all six rounds.
Member-only Games
We have recently introduced member-only games for DietBet and some of these do not have any DietBet Fees - the winners split 100% of the total pledged! The following games do not have fees removed from the total:

- Member Maintainer
- Flex Kickstarter
All other member-only games are subject to the fees listed above.
